CUBA, HAVANA “The Heart of Tradition”
Havana, the capital of the Republic of Cuba, was founded in 1519 by the Spanish conquistadors. and situated on the north coast of the island, built around a natural harbor. Today, nearly three million people live in Havana, which has the country’s most important airport and is the seat of the central government.
It has university schools, large hotels, theaters, museums, restaurants, night clubs, cultural and recreational centers, parks, squares, scientific institutes, sport facilities, and of course, the highly attractive beaches lying to the east of the city, like Veradero beach. Havana is one of the most lively and colorful cities in the Caribbean. Much of the city's charm can be found among the narrow, derelict streets packed with crumbling buildings and fascinating people.
The two pillars of the Cuban economy are tourism and sugar. Other major industries are tobacco, coffee, rum, honey, cocoa, citrus fruit, pharmaceuticals and biotechnology, as well as construction materials, fishing and mining.
Cuba has produced major international figures in literature and fine arts, film, ballet, modern dance and theatre. The country is also renowned for it’s original rhythms such as the danzón, son, bolero, mambo, cha-cha-cha and more. Cuban Havana's nightlife will exhaust even the most seasoned partygoer. After dark nightclubs and bars come alive and the famous rum cocktails flow freely. The music and dance are an inseparable part of the Cuban people’s life.
Cuban cuisine is influenced by Spanish, African, indigenous and other cultures.

The official language of the Republic of Cuba is the Spanish. Nevertheless, as a consequence of the high level cultural of Cuban people more of its inhabitants speak English and French.
The Cuban people is the synthesis of several races and cultures, formed basically for the Spanish people who colonized the country and the Africans who were brought in as slaves. These two races develop the birth of the Cuban nationality with American and Caribbean characteristics. The Cuban people have a very special charm which it is impossible to resist: He is happy, loquacious, and with a great sense of humor sense, essentially friendly, solidarity and helpful with all persons, with very special emphasis with people who visit their country.
